Google announces wide beta rollout of Gemini, a super AI chatbot that combines “the power of Search and the personality of Bard”

Google is expanding the beta of Gemini, a next-generation AI model that will combine the capabilities of Search and the personality of Bard in a conversational AI interface. The limited beta rollout first available in the United States and the United Kingdom will start this week and will expand by the end of the year in dozens of countries. <br><br>With Gemini, Google is evolving its generative AI product Bard into a more capable, conversational AI model that will help users accomplish more with natural, human-like search queries.<br><br> Gemini will supercharge Search with the best of generative AI. For the first time, Gemini will allow users to interact with Google Search using natural language. With Gemini, users will be able to use search queries like “Plan a 7-day trip to Japan for me and my family,” or “I want to purchase a new phone, help me find the best phone for me and compare phone offers.”<br><br>Gemini will become a next-generation Search interface and a new way users will interact with Google Search. It will offer advanced large language model capabilities with the ability to recall and use information from past conversations, learn user preferences, and access the web for the purpose of retrieving information. Gemini will become the default interface of Search in the future.<br><br>“Today we announced that Search is getting a massive upgrade,” said Prabhakar Raghavan, Google’s senior vice president. “Think of it as Search, but now you can have a conversation with it.”<br><br>When Gemini is rolled out, users will be able to switch between a traditional Search interface and a conversational Gemini interface.<br><br>Gemini will also introduce a new visual identity and a new Bard branding. It will replace the Bard branding currently available in dozens of countries and languages and expand the availability of Bard in dozens of new markets.<br><br>Bard is currently used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide.<br><br>Gemini is part of a new generation of generative AI applications developed with Google’s next-generation AI model, “Gemini” (also known as GPT-4X or Ultra Gemini), a large multimodal model capable of understanding images, video, and audio. Gemini is the next-generation AI model that will power Google’s Search, Bard, and other generative AI applications in the next years.<br><br>Gemini is also being used in Google’s new co-pilot AI product for Docs, Gmail, and Sheets apps and in its new AI-powered coding assistant for developers.<br><br>Gemini is the result of advanced large language model capabilities developed with Gemini, a super AI model capable of understanding images, video, and audio.<br><br>Google’s Gemini large multimodal AI model uses a new architecture that leverages additional modalities and capabilities like computer-generated images, videos, audio, and speech to train a multimodal model that can understand and generate more advanced large language model capabilities.<br><br>Gemini is also a large language model capable of generating coherent text, having a conversation, answering questions, or completing tasks with advanced capabilities and much larger context than previous AI models.<br><br>Gemini is a next-generation large language model that can deliver advanced capabilities beyond previous AI models like Gemini, Gemini Turbo, and Gemini Max. Gemini capabilities include a larger context window, more knowledge, more personality, and better reasoning and planning capabilities.<br><br>Gemini has achieved a “state-of-the-art” performance in dozens of benchmarks, including natural language processing, advanced large language model capabilities, and many other capabilities.
