I'm European, I've visited 80 countries (including many in the middle east, but not Iraq and Libya unfortunately ) and I've never encountered any issues as a result of being from where I am.

The other day I had lunch with an American guy who said he had only not visited Iraq and Libya because he believed he'd get in trouble for being American. This is the fourth time a North American has told me this. <br><br>I understand the US has done a lot of bad things in the world, no argument, but this isn't how it works. ? I've been to the two mentioned countries neighbours and have never encountered hostility. Do you think we get shit in the US for being European?? (genuinely curious)<br><br>Edit: some are saying that these countries are generally unsafe so people don't visit them anyway. I'm not disputing this, but in that case it's not because they're American.
