Got the phone for a student refusing to put it up during a test, she grabbed it back and threw it at me. I was night be off the grid so I'll try and update as I remember to check my phone.

I called admin and they said put the phone in a locker and send her to class. I told them she threw it at me and they still said just send her to class. I refused and they said they'd send someone.

Anyway, the phone went flying across the room. It hit the corner of the desk and bounced off my chest. I'm pretty sure it cracked.

Some kids are like meh. Some kids are sure she'll get expelled. Some kids are telling me to just take it to the Apple Store. I'm just waiting for my AP to get here and take the report.

Update: My AP came and took her and the phone. I gave my report and will talk to the principal in the morning. I'll probably post another update after my meeting in the morning.

Thanks for all the awards and the support.

Update: Talked to my principal who was not there at the time. She's a little more sympathetic and will be meeting with parents later today. She seems to think it might be a suspension, and told me to pursue a criminal charge if I wanted.

So, some of you are really pushing for me to take it to the police, so I talked to my husband and I think I might.

A commenter point out she might not get in to a college with a criminal record so my husband said I should only pursue the highest level assault charge. I'm thinking that's a bit much. But some of you are saying the legal system will figure it out. So what is the appropriate charge.

I looked briefly and there's assault by pointing and assault with a weapon. Would it be considered an assault by pointing since it could be considered a weapon?

Anyway, thanks for the input so far.
