There is a man in my town who claims he is a scout for some modeling agency and I don't doubt it.

I was at the grocery store and there was this really cute guy, like tall, dark hair, blue eyes, the whole thing. He came up to me, and asked me for directions to an aisle and smiled and I shyly smiled back and gave him the directions. Then I went over to an aisle and he came over and started talking. He told me I was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen ("Well you're pretty hot yourself mister"), and that he was in town from New York working on some projects, and that he'd love to go out with me sometime and see what happened. I don't usually do stuff like this, I'm actually engaged, but he just gave me this...warm feeling. So I told him maybe we could go out for coffee sometime, and he gave me his card and told me to meet him outside at his car and he drove me home, and it just felt natural, you know?

When he dropped me off, I looked at his card and it said, "Scouting agent, IMG Models." I looked up the number, and first, it was a real phone number. Second, his first and last name were on the website for IMG. I was shocked! I thought maybe I was just misreading the card and it was a fake or something but nope! I texted him when I got home and he said he couldn't wait to see me again, and he'd been in the industry for a while and that he wasn't trying to lead me on, that if I did decide to go into modeling, he would do everything to help me make it happen.

So I looked him up, and he's a fairly well known scout, and he looks like he's still working with them. I did a lot of research and everything seemed to check out and I decided to give him a chance. He took me to the nicest restaurant in town, a very fancy Italian place, and we had the best time! He had this calm and collected way of talking and an accent, and he was just a few years older than me, and I was just so comfortable. He didn't even make a move until the end of the night, and even then it was just a kiss. I was just melting into his arms, I couldn't help it. Maybe I was just infatuated, but he took his time, and didn't pressure me at all, and the way he talked about his passion for his work and the models he believed in was so...infectious.

I mean, I'm going to have to break the news to him eventually, that I'm engaged, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it yet. He asked me if I wanted to meet him back at his hotel after dinner and I said yes, and he didn't even try to take things further than just kissing me again. He told me he understood if I wanted to slow down and that he respected me and I just believed him.

I know I'm going to have to end it eventually, and I don't know how much longer I can keep up this charade, but it's been a fun ride so far, and my fiance has been really busy with work so I haven't had to lie too much so far.
