To those of you who claim that fat and ugly women have it worse than us, you are wrong.

Recently I saw a post on this sub that said this, and it really pissed me off because it's not true. As an ugly man, who is often dismissed by society as a whole, I can speak on this topic far better than some good looking Chads who claim we have it worse.

First of all, no one cares about ugly men, and we are often shamed and ridiculed for being unattractive, and this comes from both men and women. On the other hand everyone from Simon Cowell to Ellen to your average Joe will jump through their own ass to make sure that an ugly woman feels better. We live in a society where it is seen as totally fine to mock and ridicule an unattractive guy for being ugly, but don't dare say anything to an unattractive woman or you will be labeled a misogynist.

And as for the whole fat acceptance movement, you never ever see this for men, it's always only for women. If a guy is fat he is just as much of a pariah as an ugly guy, and people won't jump through their own asses to make him feel better. But you see this all the time for women, and everyone from celebrities to everyday people go out of their way to make sure that fat women feel accepted. You never see this for men. Go to any group of people and watch a fat man walk by, everyone will talk behind his back or mock him, but let a fat woman walk by and everyone will go out of their way to make sure she feels accepted.

Now I know that some of you may be thinking "well women are held to a higher standard of beauty than men." This is another falsehood that has been thrown around so much that it has become a universally accepted dogmatic truth that no one really disputes anymore. In reality attractive women have their pick of men, and are able to use their attraction to get whatever they want, good looking men do not have this. We live in a society where good looking women are elevated to god like status, and they know how to use their beauty in order to manipulate others into doing what they want. Men on the other hand have our attractions completely disregarded, and we are often written off as if we are nothing more than a piece of garbage. There is no double standard, women get held to a higher standard of beauty because society cares about them more, and thus cares more about their physical appearance. This is not true for men as the rest of society couldn't care less about our well-being on a physical, mental, or emotional level.

So no, being a fat or ugly woman is not the same as being an ugly man, and if anything it's probably better to be a fat or ugly woman. At least then you would have people who care about you and want to make sure that you feel good, and your attraction would at least be acknowledged, even if you're not traditionally attractive.

This is my take on the matter, and I hope that it has provided you all with something to think about.
