Ok, so I saved a kid today...

A kid was sitting next to the bus, crying. Had no coat and no shoes. It was around 50 degrees out. It was around 3:30. He said he missed his bus. But all the buses were gone. I figured id just take him to the hood out the way so he wouldn’t get hit trying to walk there. He was in my car, and he just kept saying, he missed his bus and has to get home. I was listening to music and he said, mister is your mom singing. I said nah bro that’s a remix. He was like, oh, is that a video game? I was like, yeah kinda. Around 4:10 I pulled over and said I could take him to the gas station so he can get some hood and call his parents to come pick him up. He had no phone. I decided to text his parents to let them know that I got him and saved him. I said he can call me dad when we are in the car. So we’re walking to the gas station, and I kind of had a bad feeling about where he was taking me, so I saved him again and said, hey, it’s getting late, why don’t I take you to your house. He agreed and we got in the car. I asked him where he lived and he said his neighborhood’s name. And kind of pointed in the right direction. I was like, ok, well, it’s not that far. So let’s go. I asked him, do you go to the school in your hood, he said yes. But that next year he is going to the new school. I said yeah I heard they built a new school in your area, where I used to live. He said yes, I’ve seen the school. I’ve been inside. I said, oh so they haven’t moved the kids to the new school? He said, no, the principal said they moved the kids to the middle school, to the football field. I asked him whaaat? How is this possible? He said yeah they have shipping containers that they use as classrooms. I said, the principal said that you guys get your own new school and you have fucking shipping containers as your classrooms? This is ridiculous. Ok so the whys and hows are for another thread but this is where I have to warn you, so there’s some messed up shit here. So the kid started talking about how there’s a lot of gangs in the neighborhood, and a lot of people get shot. He said one of his friends had seen a dead body. I was like, wait what? When? He said last year. He said, he was with his brother and saw the dead body on the ground. A kid from his school. He said, the principal said no one died and that it was a lie. I said, that’s crazy. He said, yeah the principal whips up lies all the time. I said, what do you mean? He said well his friend had something bad happen to him. I don’t know what happened but the principal took the kids phone and hid it and said they stole it. I was like, what? That’s fucked up. Ok so whys and the hows. So I asked the kid, where do you live? Again. He pointed in the right direction and said his street name. I said, ok, let me check the GPS. It says to go through this intersection. He said, no not that way. That way has gangs. He pointed down another street. I said, ok, this is what the gps said, but I don’t want to drive through any gangs. I’m not trying to get shot. He said, yeah you don’t want to go that way. So I drove through the other street. I said, ok, so where do you live? He said, you turn this way. So I turned, and I saw some police tape up. I said, what happened here? He said, do you want to see where it happened? I said, yeah show me. I drove closer, and he said, look under that street light, next to that car. That’s where the blood stain is. I said, what the hell happened? He said, there was a drive by and a kid got shot. The kid was 15. He said the police didn’t do anything, and that the principal said the kid was ok. Ok so whys and the hows. I said, ok, well now that I know where to be careful, where do you live? He said, oh that street. I said ok, let me check the gps, incase there are more gangs. He said, no there’s no gangs there. I got to the street, and he said, oh, that’s my house. I pulled up in a black SUV and said, well, here you go kid. You made it. He smiled and said, thank you mister. I said, you’re welcome kiddo, be safe. He said, you too mister. I said, Hey kiddo, you can call me dad again. He said, ok dad. I said, you get home safe, right? He said, yes dad.
