Gemini, powered by a new, more capable AI model, will soon be available to the public.<br><br>Bard, launched in 2023, is a more limited model that's been released to the public as a test version. Now, Google is ready to release Gemini, a more capable model that will be rolled out to the public in the coming weeks. Gemini is a so-called multimodal model that can answer more "nuanced queries" than Bard.<br><br>Despite being the first of the Big Tech companies to launch AI chatbots to the public, Google is lagging behind its competitors. OpenAI has launched ChatGPT and Claude is available for Plus subscribers. For its part, Microsoft has launched Copilot, a more powerful version of ChatGPT. Amazon launched Gemini last month and Meta is testing Llama 3.
