CMV: Surrogacy should be illegal

In every other instance, a mother carrying a pregnancy wouldn't be paid to legally give her baby away at birth. A woman would be involuntarily committed if she expressed a desire to give her child away at birth. Society as a whole doesn't allow a mother to give her child away. Surrogacy, even when not involving money, is doing all of this. For a woman to carry a pregnancy and then attempt to separate herself from the child, like it was never her baby to begin with, is cruel. Anyone involved in surrogacy should be punished.
