All women are not feminists, don't pretend otherwise.

Women are not a monolith. There are women who are staunchly anti-feminist, there are women who want equality in all things, and there are women who want to be openly superior to men. There are women who believe that we should kill men, women who believe that men should be subserviant, and women who believe that radical feminism is creating a divide between male and female genders that will lead to great consequences.

All these women are women. Feminist and anti-feminist and pro-dom femininst, we all have our own beliefs and ideas about how the world should be run. Most of us are straight, but there are enough of us who are LGBTQ to create our own little subcultures. Some of us are mothers, some of us are fathers, and some of us are childfree. We are big, we are little, we are old, and we are young. Some of us are disabled, both mentally and physically, and a lot of us are not.

We were all born female, or at least the majority of us were, and we have all had the experiences of being, basically, second-class citizens. Some of us have been raped, some of us have been beaten, some of us have been killed. We're not the only ones, I know that, but we are the ones that feminism focuses on. Feminism focuses on women, through and through. Sometimes we may mention how an issue affects a man, but in the end it is about how this issue affects women and how, if it doesn't affect women, it doesn't matter.

And yet, somehow, we're all supposed to be one giant mass of radical feminists who want bloodshed and murder. We're all supposed to be angry and hateful, we're all supposed to be stupid and white and privileged and unaware of anything other than our own problems. We're all supposed to look down on men and be disgusted by them, we're all supposed to be big and fat and ugly and single and lonely.

And sometimes, I wish that were true. I think it would be a lot easier if all women were the same. If I knew that every woman agreed with me about everything, if every woman stood up for what I stand up for, if every woman was the kind of woman that would fight and die for our cause. If every woman were radicalised through and through and if every woman hated men with the burning passion of a thousand suns. If every woman were free from internalised misogyny and if every woman were strong and fierce and protective of every other woman.

And I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I read so many places on the internet where radical feminists say that all women are feminists and that all women are radical feminists, just waiting for that awakening moment of self-discovery that will make them join the ranks of female supremacy. I've heard that we need to kill all men, I've been agreed with when I said the same, and I've seen other women say the same. I've been told that I would be a better person if I were a lesbian, I've been told that women are the greatest and most superior thing in the universe, and I've been told that we need to abandon all contact with men if we want to find true equality.

And I don't believe any of it. I believe that feminism is about equality, yes, but I also believe that feminism is about creating a world where every gender can live together in safety and harmony. I believe that women should be respected and treated equally, but I also believe that men and non-binary people should be treated with that same respect. I believe that all oppression is targetted towards women and therefore that all women should join together and fight against that oppression, but I also believe that a lot of women are too bigoted to do anything about it.

I believe that feminism needs to change. I believe we need to stop saying that we're all sisters, that we're all the same, that we're all radical feminists deep down. I believe that's a lie, and I believe that lie is actually stopping us from becoming more radicalised because it creates a huge disconnect. I believe that we need to accept that we are all very different from each other, that we have very different ideas and viewpoints, that we are all separate people and sometimes very separate entities. I believe we need to stop trying to turn every woman into a feminist through force and I believe we need to stop saying that all women are naturally radical feminists.

I don't want to be a feminist because I'm a woman. I want to be a feminist because I want to create a world that is safe and equal for everyone.
