Why do people say "palestine" was forced out when Israel only came back because of a war?

They warred in 1948, Israel won, their allies who forced them out of places like Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt gave them no help because they were defeated and ofc they forced jews out. By the end of it Israel had a burgeoning refugee crisis and nearly every arab country forced their jews out with nothing. Why do people ignore these facts and only whine about israel?
