CMV: It's completely asinine that healthy food costs more than junk food in the US

Look at literally any healthy food vs a processed, unhealthy food and compare prices. It's insane. A head of broccoli is 3x the price of a bag of potato chips. A bottle of OJ is 4x the price of a bottle of soda. It makes no sense that it's this way. A lot of people are blaming the "sugar lobby" for this. I'm not sure what the reason is, but it's wrong and needs to change. Your view can be changed by telling me why it makes sense that healthy food is so much more expensive than unhealthy food.

Edit: This post has been locked because both sides are just venting and no longer trying to change each other's minds. Please remember that the point of this sub is to try to change someone else's view. Please try to avoid insults and name calling, and show that you're actually trying to see things from the other side's perspective.
