I love metal detecting but I have a feeling that I'm missing out on places that I can metal detect.

I know several places that allow metal detecting in my state, but I want to know where it is near me (in a new state), so that when I ride my bike or walk I can metal detect.

There's no app, website, out there that you can type in a location or have it, be like Waze apps. So you type in a zip code for example, out of 10,000 locations in a city, it gives you the places you can go metal detecting.

This would also have a list of places that aren't denoted yet by anyone or very little metal detecting has been done.

Description for example:

Jimmy's Bar and Grill, downtown, Jimmy says it's ok to metal detect, only beer cans and a dime so far

Another description for example:

Lake whatever, this is a private lake, but Jim who owns the lake says it's ok to metal detect up to a certain point.

Another description for example:

This land is owned by Jim, he says no one has ever metal detected up there, but he wants to keep that information private so that you have to type in his code "Jim's code 123" to see where to metal detect.

Another description for example:

City park, lots of people have found stuff in the city park, it's owned by the city and you must have a permit.

Another description for example:

This is a private property, word in the metal detecting community is that the owner has a bit of a stick up his butt and no one has found anything but junk on his land, but he says he's ok with people metal detecting.

And then places that are forbidden to metal detect, including reasons why. For example.

Another description for example:

This land is owned by the local church, this is forbidden to metal detect, but it's worth noting this land has been undisturbed since the 1800s and is surrounded by a fence for example.

Another description for example:

This is a protected area, this land is protected by the government since it's outside of the local park and it's a protected area because of the wildlife, but local legend is that in the 1800s there was a treasure chest buried somewhere on this land, but no one knows the exact spot to check.

It's worth noting that this land is protected by the government, and several people have put in old metal detecting finds from this land before it was protected.

This app could also verify the owner of the land, and you could put in a request for land owners to consider allowing metal detecting, for example.

This app is not out yet, but this is the idea, so I wanted to throw it out there to the world and, open the idea up.

From my understanding this app would be a crowd-sourced app where people can put in new locations that are either public or private information, and then you can see where to metal detect in your area.

It will also have a search bar, so you can type in specific locations for example.

I think that this app would be a game-changer in the metal detecting community, and I think that landowners would have a lot of interest in this app as well for obvious reasons.

I think businesses in particular, if the app was used enough, would start to put in their own locations, and would want to have more people metal detecting around their businesses to help with sales and revenue.

I think there would also be a lot of public interest in this app, and think that it would be a great conversation starter in general, and I think that it would help the metal detecting community to go through the world and not disturb the land outside of metal detecting.

For example, it could be like Pokémon go, where there's a map of the land with lots of dots.

The dots are color-coded, I think. For example.

Red dots = Forbidden to metal detect

Blue dots = ok to metal detect

Purple dots = places that are private, but if you put in the code you can see where to metal detect

Purple dots with a blank space for code = private land owners that require a code to see where, but you can press a button that says send code or something to send a, code request to the owner of the land

Green dots = places that have been completely scoured through and there's no point in metal detecting there

Yellow dots = places that have been partially scoured through, but there's still a good chance of finding things

Orange dots = places that have lots of treasure and metal detecting finds but is forbidden to metal detect, for example

Orange dot with a blank space for code = places that have lots of treasure and metal detecting finds but is forbidden to metal detect, unless you put in the code, then you can go metal detecting in that location

White dots = places that have been protected or forbidden to metal detect but are known to have a lot of treasure, but don't have a code or way to get around that ban

It would also have a list view, where you can look at a list of the dots, and places to metal detect in a list.

Example:

Forbidden to metal detect

* Jimmy's bar and grill
* The local church
* The park

Places to metal detect

* Lake whatever, this is a private lake
* City park, lots of people have found stuff in the city park
* This land is owned by Jim, he says no one has ever metal detected, etc

Places that are private

* This is a private property, word in the metal detecting community
* This land is owned by the local, etc

Places that are completely scoured through

* This land is owned by the city, etc

Places that are partially scoured through

* City park, lots of people have found stuff in the city park

Places that have lots of treasure and metal detecting finds, but are forbidden to metal detect

* This land is owned by the local church, etc

Places that have lots of treasure and metal detecting finds, but are forbidden to metal detect, unless you have a code

* This is a protected area, this land is protected by the government

Places that are protected, but are known to have a lot of treasure that are forbidden to metal detect

* This land is owned by the local church, etc

Places to request metal detecting, this would be a feature where you can see places that aren't allowed to metal detect in, but you can put in a request to allow metal detecting, for example.

Places that are completely unknown and unverified

This land is owned by the city, but no one has ever metal detected there

This land is owned by a private land owner, but there's no information available on if metal detecting is allowed or not

This would be crowdsourced off of people putting in information in the app of, here's a place that is completely unknown and has not been verified.

Places that have been partially scoured through, and you can see what has been found on a map, and zoom in and zoom out of the map, and you can click on the map and see what other people have found.

Places that have been completely scoured through, and you can see what has been found in a map, and zoom in and zoom out of the map, and you can click on the map and see what other people have found.

Places that haven't been scoured through at all, and, you can see what other people have found, and you can click on the map and zoom in and zoom out and see what other people have found.

Places that have lots of treasure, but are forbidden to metal detect, but you can see a map of other people's metal detecting finds, and you can zoom in and zoom out of the map, and you can click on the map and see what other people have found.

Places that have lots of treasure, and you can metal detect there, but you have to have a code, and you can see a map of other people's metal detecting finds, and you can zoom in and zoom out of the map, and you can click on the map and see what other people have found.

Places that have lots of treasure, but are forbidden to metal detect, and you can't see a map of other people's finds, but you can see what people have found, and you can zoom in and zoom out of the map, and you can click on the map and see what other have found, and you can zoom in and zoom out of the map, but you can't click on the map and see what other people have found.

This app would also have a social feature, where you can connect with other metal detector enthusiasts, and you can see a list of your friends on the app, and see where they've metal detected, and see what they've found, and see their profile and feed of metal detecting finds, and see their metal detecting history, and see their profile picture and name, and see their friends list, and see all the places that they've metal detected in, and see all the places that they've been forbidden to metal detect, and see the list of places that they're allowed to metal detect, and see the list of places that they're not allowed to metal detect, and see the list of places that they've found treasure, and see the list of places
