Anyone here remember 4chan from back in the day?

Many moons ago, back in mid-2008 I found 4chan and man was that the best time on the internet. So many crazy memes were constantly being produced and it felt like the dream of the internet being a place to organize and socialize with people was being realized.<br><br>Many moons have passed since then, and I recently went back to check it out and it felt like the life had been sucked out of it. The memes were stale, the mods seemed to be extreme, and the general vibe seemed to be of sentimentality for an imageboard of days long past.<br><br>Anyone here remember those crazy times? The world felt smaller and everything felt so connected. So what happened?
