I can’t be the first person to think of this

I was talking to this woman tonight who’s about my age. She had been talking about how she was trying to start a business but had no business sense so I offered to help her. I have helped other business people and friends in the past. She was hesitant at first but I told her that it wouldn’t be a problem as I had already helped friends of friends and family. She asked me what business I’m in. I told her that I was a software engineer so I’m pretty good at strategy. She asked me what I do and I told her I’m an employee. She was shocked that a software engineer would be an employee and told me that I should start my own company. I asked her if she knew anything about software engineering and she told me that she has an associates degree in it. I told her that’s not enough to be a software engineer and I have a degree in it as well as a Master’s. I told her that I have a pretty solid foundation in it. She told me that I should start my own company then and I told her that I have. She was confused and asked me how I can be an employee if I have my own company. I told her I’m just an employee and I have been since I was in my second year of college. I told her that’s the norm and she looked at me like I was a moron. I was shocked and I told her that she probably doesn’t know how businesses work. She told me that I know nothing about businesses and I’m probably the dumbest person she has ever met. I told her that I probably am and she told me to go back to high school. I told her that I can’t go back to high school and I don’t want to. I told her that she doesn’t know anything about businesses and she told me to go fuck myself. I told her that I will and she hung up on me. <br><br>I have a degree and a master’s degree in computer science and I’m not a business owner. <br><br>I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. It’s just weird that she didn’t believe me.
