My girlfriend (34F) said we (40M) would never have sex again

I've been with my girlfriend for about 200 days. We met at work. We got along wonderfully and have been having a really good time together. I've never been happier in a relationship. <br><br>We have sex regularly. As we both age, I've noticed changes in that. Regardless, we weren't having any issues. I've always had a very high sex drive, and she was always willing to have sex even if she wasn't in the mood. <br><br>I have a bit of a gut from years of a desk job, so I've been going to the gym for the last few months. I was happy to see I had lost a couple pounds. I told her I lost a couple pounds, and she laughed and said "Oh yeah? So we won't have sex anymore?". I was like "umm what?". She corrected by saying "Oh you're halfway to 10 pounds, so we're still good!"<br><br>I have never heard her express any concerns about my weight or appearance, so I was a bit perplexed. I asked her what she meant, and she doubled down harder on the joke, saying I tell her my weight loss and she'd subtract it from 10 and tell me how much longer we'd have sex. She even joked about getting a whiteboard to keep track of it. <br><br>I was so confused and honestly a bit concerned. Everything was fine between us, we were sexually active, and this just seemed to come out of nowhere. I prodded her for a serious answer and she just kept doubling down on the joke. <br><br>Eventually she saw I was annoyed, and admitted she overheard a conversation I had with a friend. The topic of the conversation was my friend's new girlfriend. One of the things he mentioned was that she refused to have sex with him until he lost 10 pounds. <br><br>My girlfriend admitted she thought this conversation was about us, and that I was apparently telling my friends I wouldn't have sex with her until I lost 10 pounds. She said she decided to just joke about it to avoid a confrontation. <br><br>The next day, I saw my friend and told him what happened. He was very embarrassed and had no idea she overheard us. I made sure to clear the air with my girlfriend, but the joke about the whiteboard remains.
