Yesterday, my gf came home from work and found that my house was broken into. We go in, all of the doors were open, everything was tossed around, stuff all over the floor, etc.

The first time we were broken into was about 6 months ago. The robber entered through a window in the basement. We didn’t have alarms then, so they were able to easily steal a bunch of high value items sitting on the kitchen counter.

The second time they broke in was about 2 months ago. Again, through a window in the basement. This time, we had just installed our house-wide alarm system. However, the alarm system only had a delay setting of 30 seconds to exit the front door. In order to be able to enter through the basement, it only had a 10 second delay. So they were able to easily steal more high value items sitting on the kitchen counter b4 the alarm went off and police were notified.

So, this time. We enter the house with everything all over the place. It was obvious that someone had been there. However, nothing was stolen. b4 I went to check the basement, I checked our alarm panel and nothin was triggered. I go into the basement and the window is broken (again). It was then that I noticed that they had actually triggered the alarm this time. What the hell? So I go to check my footage. It was then that I realized that our alarm company changed the b4 mentioned 10 second delay to 30 seconds. So the alarm went off as soon as they entered this time. Watching the footage showed that they immediately bounced as soon as they heard the alarm go off. They were in my house for a total of 10 seconds.
