What is the best map projection?

I can not seem to agree with myself on what the best map projection is.<br><br>Does anyone know of any worldbuilding where the author has discussed or answered this question? Or does anyone here have any thoughts about it?<br><br>I am looking for a map projection that will be used by the government of my planet but my planet is mostly ocean and I need to show that the sea goes all the way around it.<br><br>I don't think I want a 2D projection because it is obviously not accurate. So I'm looking for something that is 3D or animated.
