LPT: If you’re constantly running low on “time,” prioritize projects and then break them down into smaller chunks.

I work 40 hours a week, have a commute, and 3 kids in sports. I also volunteer and spend time with extended family. I managed to get my MBA, CFA, and CFP in the past 5 years. It’s not that you don’t have time, it’s that other things take priority. I sacrifice sleep and some interests to get everything done (helps that I function well on 6 hours of sleep a night). To create time I also replaced my gym time with walking my dog for 45 minutes, I don’t watch much TV anymore, or play video games. Prioritize, and plan.

Edit: thanks for the awards. I feel that everyone has the ability to make time for what’s important. I’m not a super-chad that can do 3 hours of cardio and work 10 hours a day and play video games. I’m just “normal.” Maybe this isn’t a LPT for everyone. Maybe you don’t want to take time away from your hobbies. Maybe you need to make more time for self-care. You can make time if it’s important enough to you.
