the outpouring of love and solidarity and support is amazing

Lately i feel like i’m seeing a lot of positive changes and the kind of wave of solidarity and support i’ve been waiting for is finally washing through the world. <br><br>Cis women are showing up for trans women! Some are standing up to real backlash, real personal consequences, and are still willing to look trans women in the eye and say “we see you, we hear you, we love you. you are one of us.” <br><br>Women with privilege are showing up for women without privilege. White women are standing up for black women. Rich women are standing up for poor women. Women who are citizens are showing up for immigrants. Women who’ve never been to prison are showing up for women who are in jail or have been locked up or are in danger of being locked up. Women who are cis are showing up for trans women. Women with careers and degrees are showing up for women with no education. <br><br>People with money are giving it away to people who need it more than they do. People with privilege are showing up to help people who are in danger and out of the way. People are willing to look at their own privilege and involve themselves and their bodies in the cause of women who need them and need that kind of solidarity and sacrifice. <br><br>People are standing up even if they aren’t particularly politically active, even when it’s hard and out of their comfort zone. <br><br>Women are willing and actively working to uplift women and not involve themselves in our own oppression by trying to tear other women down to satisfy men. <br><br>Women are showing up to help and support other women and their children. Women are supporting women’s businesses and children and art and individual pursuits. Women are showing out out out of love and the kind of solidarity and support i’ve been dreaming of is finally happening. <br><br>And for the women who are in the trenches and have been holding space for women for years and years and years thank you for your hard work and tireless efforts. this is not new for you, and you’ve been carrying this for all of us for so long. Thank you for caring so much. Thank you for showing up even when it was so hard. Thank you for holding space for us all and nurturing and protecting us when so many of us didn’t know how to and some of us still don’t know how to. <br><br>Thank you to the women who are standing up now, even if it’s for the first time. Thank you for being willing to be brave and take personal risks for other women. Thank you for taking care of women and doing your best to be good to other women. Thank you for uplifting women. Thank you for loving women. Thank you for showing that you see women, you hear us, we are one of you. Thank you.
