I was almost kidnapped at the mall

this happened a long time ago, but it is forever burned into my memory.<br><br><br>Back in 1990 when I was 12 years old, my family spent the weekend at my grandmas house. I had stayed up late playing video games with my cousin and decided to go for a walk to the mall. It was about 2:30 am and the mall was several blocks away. I walked the neighborhood for years at night and never felt scared.<br><br>I walked through the empty parking lot towards the glass doors of the mall and saw a man standing there. I said "Hi" and he said "Hi back". He said:<br><br>"Oh boy, you're out late aren't you?"<br><br>"Yeah I love walking at night." I said.<br><br>"What do you think about me? Do I look like a bad guy?" He asked.<br><br>I said "no". Then he quickly opened the mall door and motioned for me to enter. I was half way though the door when I backed up and started running. I heard the mall door open as I ran and him yelling "Come back here you little shit!"<br><br>I ran back to my grandmas house as fast as I could and didn't stop until I reached her front door. I locked the door and ran to my room to tell no one.<br><br>The next day I went to the mall with my mom and asked the employees at several stores if I could see their security footage. They said that the cameras recorded over each day and that there was no tape to give to the police.<br><br>The memory of this has never left me, and I have never taken my safety for granted since.
