This may be the first time that Elon Musk has not gotten the defense of the internet (myself included) for one of his controversies. As a staunch supporter of free speech online, I have always thought Elon would be the one to challenge big tech’s poorly defined and subjective speech restrictions.

This is not what happened. When Elon Musk tweeted a picture of his genitalia on Twitter, he was shadow banned for the day. To make matters worse, nobody seems to care. If we allow big tech to have a say in what is ‘acceptable’ and what is not in regards to sexual content, we are compromising the first amendment.

I could not find any instance of someone’s genitalia being censored from a cloud sharing platform, and have never heard of an account being terminated from a cloud sharing platform, for an image of genitals.

**What cloud services think of genitals is irrelevant**. This is about what **you** think of genitals. Do you think genitals on the internet should be censored? Do you think you should be punished for posting genitals online? Do you think that big tech should be the ones telling us what is offensive or not?

If you **do not** think it should be punished, then you should be upset at the fact that Elon Musk, or anyone for that matter, can be removed from a platform for simply posting genitals.

If you **do** think it should be punished, then I am here to challenge that.

CMV.
