My son and I got called to the Post Office here in small town Texas (one main post office, 4 other much smaller satellite offices) just outside of Houston. My son and his fiancé got called to work there only because there is no regular postal employees left. Typically old retired people staff the PO and they cant work a night a week. My son got called last minute so he asked me and his soon to be wife if we wanted a little extra money. All three of us were hired to work only the night shift.

So here is the deal. I dont care if you are democrat, republican, independent, or whatever. I dont have anything political to say here. What I am about to tell you is so over the top, it could change the very course of history. There is no reason to doubt what I am about to tell you. I am so floored, I just cant believe what I am about to tell you. You will likely not believe me, but I do hope you will. Also, I am not a troll. I dont have a single post of anything political. Look up my profile and see for yourself. Otherwise, read on...

First off, when we got there for our first night, we were introduced to several other full-time workers. We spent the first four hours standing at a desk signing our lives away (work contract). We were then taken to a room with a bunch of other temps like us. After about an hour, I asked if we were going to get any training? Everyone looked at me and said "training never happens here. If you dont know something, just do it and we will see you in the morning." I was shocked at that. So I asked my fellow workers (all temps) what am I supposed to be doing. Most of them said they had no idea, but a few older guys told me to come with them.

As it turns out, I was suppose to be in a secure room opening up mail in ballots for the county. Two other temps started working with me and we just started opening up these mail in ballots and counting them. We were told to throw away any that were "invalid". The only ones we were told were invalid were ones that were in an envelope that was opening. Typically what happens is we get these massive boxes of ballots in boxes, and those "boxes" are shipped out to the different post offices to be sorted to hand count and verify? I dont know how the process goes. All I know is that we were told to keep a count of how many ballots we opened and to throw away any that were invalid.

In our hand count, we were opening these ballots and we had to manually go through them to see if any were invalid. Like if there were any holes or a crease that went through a bubble, we were told to throw it away. Typically, we were told to try to keep a "count" of how many ballots were invalid. Problem is, no one tells you how to keep a count. We were told a "count" means a count. How in the hell do we keep a count, do we write them down, do we use a digital count? You tell me.

We were also given a supervisor to give the "count" to. But we cannot hand count the ballots themselves. We dont have enough time to do that. I also dont think we are allowed to count them (not sure). But we can count the "invalid" ones we throw away. The ones we dont throw away, we are given a machine to scan them. This machine was likely a 2,000 dollar machine, but it looks like it was from the 80's. The machine is very basic, it counts the ballots and verifies them if they are good or bad. At the end of it all, we are to print out the number of "good" ballots and how many we threw away as "invalid." Then we are to give that number to the supervisor.

But here is the deal. We are not only opening up ballots for people who ask for them, but we are also opening up "absentee" ballots. Its been my understanding that if you dont specifically ask for a mail in ballot, than you cant just get one. I guess that is where I am wrong. We were given boxes of "absentee" ballots and I asked the guy if this is legal? He said "yes", and that it's been going on in Texas for years.

We have been there a week and I would guess that we (the four of us) have thrown away about 100 ballots so far. But we also just throw away the envelopes. The envelopes you mail the ballots in have the name and address of who is on the ballot. So there is no way to keep a count of who the ballot was for. We just throw them away.

My question here is, what if someone tries to mail their ballot in and we throw it away? Is the voter ever going to know that we tossed their ballot? It seems like that should be a felony. But I was told that it is common practice. I dont know if this is the case in other states, but it seems like it is common practice to throw ballots away. I could be wrong, but that is a lot of ballots to throw away. Also, the envelopes that are mailed in, they are suppose to be in a sealed envelope. We were told not to count them if they were open. But we dont do that. We just count them anyway. One I opened, I was about to throw it away, but the other guy told me to go ahead and just count it. I dont know if that is common practice, but it happened.

We tried to ask our supervisor about it and they said it is common practice and that is just the way it is. But I have a problem with it. I dont care if you voted democrat or republican. But to throw your ballot away is absolutely insane. What in the hell is going on. I only hope that this is the case in other states, or Texas just rigged the election. What the hell.
