The U.S. government is banning TikTok from federal devices and giving them 30 days to remove the popular social media app, the White House announced on Monday. The move is the U.S. government’s latest effort to bar the ByteDance-owned service, citing concerns that the data of U.S. users could be shared with the Chinese government. Federal agencies have 90 days to remove any third-party app that doesn’t meet standards set by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
