Do you have to be a morning person to be a teacher?

I’m a high school English teacher and I spend a lot of my time talking to my students about how to be successful in school and life. My students ask me for advice on how to get up in the morning, and I’m starting to realize that I have no idea how to help them because I am NOT a morning person. I like to teach high school because I feel like I can help teenagers because I am so much like them. I started teaching at 24, so I am very close in age to my students. I like to think that helps me relate to them. But my sleep schedule is not ideal for a teacher. I get nervous that if I admit I’m not a morning person, it will ruin my credibility when I talk about the importance of being on time. I am always on time, but I am NOT a happy morning person.

Can you be a successful teacher if you aren’t a morning person?
