I'm 28M and have been a gun owner since I was 19. I live in Florida and have always felt that owning a weapon is necessary for self-defense, hunting, etc. I have multiple civilian firearms and civilian sniper rifles.

My family, on the other hand, is pro-gun control. My father is pro 2A, but my mother, siblings, and other family members support strict regulations. We frequently argue about gun control, with them citing mass shootings and gun violence. I try to counter with facts about the real reasons behind mass killings, such as mental health, school policies, and social problems. My mother also recently liked a Facebook post comparing conservatives to Nazis.

This has led to a heated debate, with them labeling me as a "gun nut" and me accusing them of being ignorant about guns and the Constitution. I want to show them the truth about civilian disarmament, but I'm not sure how to convince them.

Any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

**TL;DR:** My family is pro-gun control, and I want to show them the truth about civilian disarmament. I'm trying to convince them to see the reality behind mass shootings and gun violence.
