This letter is intended to give the users of our sub a little more insight into the challenges we are currently facing in our efforts to combat spam from certain subreddits.

First of all, we moderators are very proud of our work so far. Our subreddit serves as a place where people from all over the world can gather, discuss the war, and exchange information. We are working hard to keep this place open, fair and safe for everyone.

However, we are increasingly faced with the problem of spam. In order to find this kind of spam, we have to sift through hundreds, if not thousands, of new comments and posts every day. We check if the accounts that have written these comments/posts have already been banned and if they are still active in other subreddits. We also have to check the whole posting and commenting history of these accounts to find evidence of spam.

We do this every day, around the clock. Every comment, every post is checked. This work is exhausting and leaves us very little free time.

The problem is becoming more and more serious, as more and more accounts are emerging, almost on an industrial scale, to spread propaganda, fake news and hate messages about Ukraine. We have tried to find allies on the platform, but unfortunately, no one is willing to take on this task.

We know that we are not fighting this fight alone. There are many other subreddits that are affected by the same kind of spam and are also being attacked. But unfortunately, there is hardly any support from Reddit administrators. It almost seems as if they are deliberately ignoring the problem.

We as moderators do not have the possibility to prove with absolute certainty that certain subreddits are involved in this massive spamming. The problem is much more complex and can only be solved with the help of the Reddit administrators, as they have the possibility to access information about the account owners and their IP addresses.

But even the moderators of other subreddits, who have also tried to contact Reddit administrators about the issue, have not received any support.

It is our hope that someone from the Reddit support team sees this message and finally gets in touch with us to work together on a solution. We as moderators can fight the spam alone, but we can't get to the roots.

We are not alone in our endeavour. We have made contact with the moderators of other subreddits that are also affected by spam and we are working together on this issue. But without Reddit administrators, it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to continue our efforts.

We want to thank our community for understanding our position and for supporting us.

Finally, we want to say one more thing: we will continue to fight against the spam and propaganda of certain subreddits, no matter what.

Edit: Many users asked how they can help. It is very important to report any kind of spam you find. Only through the consistent reporting of these accounts by the users can we identify and ban them.
