I'm really concerned about men's mental health

I'm a mental health therapist(f48)who has jumped back into dating (males) after a ten year dating hiatus.

I've met a few men, taken some time to get to know them, and dang. Usually about a month into getting to know these guys I'm hearing phrases like "emotionally dead inside" and "unable to understand my own or other's feelings". They are angry and irritated at the core of their emotional lives and have very low levels of positive emotion. It's very sad.

I feel so bad that nearly every guy I say hello to is seemingly in a lot of pain and faking a relatively "normal" life for everyone. I've never experienced this before, as I'm sure cultural and social times have changed.

I'm worried for these men and I'm worried about our society as a whole. I feel like we're headed towards an emotional/societal downfall of sorts.

I wish I knew how to help. **How did this happen?**

**EDIT: Yes, the mental health system is completely overwhelmed. I work at a clinic and we've been slammed since the beginning of COVID.**

**EDIT2: It's not necessarily that I am out and out dating these men, but rather getting to know them on a friendship level before I consider dating. It's all on a slow track. The three I've gotten to know have all shared these characteristics. I've always been interested in human dynamics and relationships, so I'm very tuned in to peoples' emotions and energy.**

**EDIT3: I know women are also feeling this way. It sounds like maybe even more than men. I'm just concerned because as a society we tend to focus on helping and caring for women's needs over men's needs. So if anyone is overlooked at all, it will likely continue to be the men.**
