My sister-in-law hates feminism and thinks women are oppressed. She also hates feminism for being a man-hating ideology, because of all the quotes and examples that she found online (mostly from chambers, which is not the best place to look for anything). She also thinks that women can't be man-haters because women are the weaker sex and so they have more to lose. This is how I would summarize her whole "feminism" ideology, she doesn't read books or listen to people, she just looks at random quotes online, and even the quotes that are real, are often taken out of context and distorted by man-hating websites.

Yesterday she called me a "feminist hater" because I refuse to believe in a movement that is so full of lies and half truths. I asked her what she meant by that and she said that feminism is just a movement for equality for women and that people who hate feminism just want to hate women because they think women are better than men. I told her that I'm not a "feminist hater" I'm just not a blind supporter of a movement that is so full of lies and I also said that feminism isn't just a movement for equality. She then said that I should go read some books about feminism and I told her that I have read many books and articles and that's why I don't believe in feminism. I also told her that she's not a good feminist because she thinks women are better than men and that she's just a hypocrite, using feminism for her own gain.

After that she said that I'm just a bitter man and that I should just shut up because women's rights are more important than men's rights and I said that feminism isn't a movement for women's rights it's a movement for women to gain power over men.

I'm sorry if this is a long post. I just want to vent a bit because I'm tired of people calling me names for not believing in feminism. I'm also tired of people like my sister-in-law who just look at random quotes and websites to form their opinions.
