We've seen this in other third world countries. When a politician loses an election, they cry foul and try and delegitimize the results. Even if he loses by 1%. He'll tell his followers that everything about the election was rigged. That's why he's feigning that the election has already been rigged. He knows his base is stupid enough to buy it.
