I have a lot of questions about people's home defense setups, but the only constant is that I get downvoted to oblivion every time I ask them. I'm hoping it doesn't happen here.

So I'm going to go ahead and ask them all at once. I'm not worried about piècing together your specific location or anything else based on your responses. These questions are all in reference to your primary or secondary longarms (if you have one).

1. Is your rifle/shotgun kept in a safe, a locker, or something similar?
2. Is your firearm easily accessible? i.e. backstock under bed, nightstand, etc?
3. Do you keep a firearm in your bedroom? Where?
4. Is your firearm kept loaded?
5. Is the magazine kept inside of the firearm?
6. Is there a chambered round present?
7. If there is a round chambered, is the weapon cocked?
8. If there is no magazine in the weapon, where is it kept in relation to the firearm? ( attached to handheld spot near weapon, in nightstand, etc)
9. Did you bolt your safe to the floor?
10. Is your firearm kept above your bed, or near the door?
11. Is your firearm kept far away from your bedroom, i.e. a different room, and not easily accessible?
12. Do you keep your magpul furniture loose on purpose so that it can be easily removed in an emergency, or is it torqued to spec?
13. Where do you keep your extra mags for your primary?
14. Is your primary kept on a gun hanger on the wall, or on a hook under a shelf, etc?

I'm just really interested to know, because these are all of the things I'm thinking about in terms of being prepared and efficient in an intruder scenario, but I don't have any immediate answers or a good system setup.

I've been reading articles and watching videos, but of course, they all have different opinions on the best methods.

Thanks in advance.
