Indian startup launches world’s first drone which can fly in space, official patent granted by World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO (HQ in Geneva, Switzerland)

A startup from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh has reached a remarkable milestone by bagging the patent for the space drone. The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) has granted the patent for Anti-Gravity drone which is capable of flying in space.<br><br>The innovation has been developed by a drone manufacturing company, called Sagar Defence Engineering. The patent has been granted for a period of 20 years. The term started from the date of filling the patent on March 4, 2023. Furthermore, the company founder has also announced plans for a prototype demonstration in 2025. He added that the mass production of the drone will start from 2026.<br><br>According to Sagar Defence Engineering, the drone will be made using specially designed craft material. The drone can be used for research purposes. The drone can carry payload and research equipment to space.<br><br>“Space drones will be capable of sending weather reports from space. Space drones will be capable of sending live footage from space, which has many applications, from weather forecasting and studying the cosmos to environmental monitoring and search and rescue operations,” stated the company founder.<br><br>Sagar Defence Engineering was established in 2014. The company focuses on manufacturing drone for defence and surveillance. The company aims to establish itself as a top player in the Indian drone manufacturing industry. The company says that the patent will be a game-changer for India.
