I am from South India. I don't mind other people talking about it, but certainly we don't like seeing people degrading it. As a South Indian Hindu, I can tell you that 95% south Indians love India and often move to the north in search of work or an education.

In the north, especially Delhi, they are treated poorly. My brother works there and they openly call him sardar and other stuff. When I was living in another city, we had a South Indian servant come to our house and he asked about what is a south Indian. My father said that he is a south Indian. When he got to know, he never treated us for a long time.

We all tolerate this and never speak out due to fears of getting labelled as a South Indian nationalist.

South Indians are Indians just like you and we contributed a lot to the country, so we should be liked. They say south Indians don't speak Hindi, but south Indians love India and Hindi. Most South Indians study in English medium schools for better education, but Hindi is mandatory.

We also like seeing Indians win. We love Indians in the Indian cricket team and south Indians love it. We love seeing Indians do better in the world and feel proud when we do better. We love Indians, south and north. Ask any South Indian and they will say they love India.

Why so much hatred? I don't see any south Indian nationalists asking for a South Indian nation. We are all happy with being called Indian.

Edit: I also travel to many places. I have never seen any mistrust towards North Indians. We just like seeing Indians do better. We like seeing Indians play against Pakistan. We like seeing India conquer the world.

Also, South Indians do not call us a different country. It is just a geographic location.

The same is for North India.

People from south India are humble and often move to the north for work and education. But they do not want to be in the north due to the cold and the arrogance of people. They do not like seeing people degrading south India and its places, culture and traditions.

That is how South Indians feel about the north.

Thank you for reading.
