How do people not realize that we are living in the future right now?

To me it's so painfully obvious that we are already living in the future.<br><br>The insane advances in AI, the endless progress in space exploration, the mindblowing progress in biotech... it goes on and on.<br><br>But people act like "the future" is still decades away like wtf.
