So there is no opposition to politicians and corporations that are generally regarded as dangerous and exploitative?

I'm not one to write or read much, but I am very concerned about society and I need to speak up, probably the last place on earth where I can do it freely.
I live in France, and I am 17 years old. Since I was born I have heard of political opposition, politicians generally do not represent the people but themselves, they squabble over useless things and let the corporations take control of everything anyway. They generally don't give a damn about their citizens, all we have are puppets that generally do what they are asked to do by those who hold the purse strings.
I'm not an expert, and I'm not educated enough to give you a solid argument or even to know my position, but I'm very worried about the society that is being built, the cruel fate and future that awaits us. It seems like we are moving towards a future of total control and surveillance, where the government and corporations will be able to control us in our every move, thought, and act. Where we will be monitored by AI cameras, where our every decision will be controlled and influenced by the algorithms that lead us to consume and buy the things of the companies that have a stranglehold on our minds and our lives. Where all our knowledge comes from Wikipedia, social media and Netflix, gadgets, new iPhones, and PlayStation. A future of technological slavery and alienation where we will be nothing more than a statistic, a number in the Matrix, where the human will be nothing more than a machine that is just there to make money.
Are we moving towards a future where our politicians are generally going to be nothing more than puppets, where our freedom will be reduced to nothing more than being responsible for our every decision, and that if we don't do what we are told, we will have no resources, we will be forced to be responsible for our mistakes, for our debt, for our obsession with technology, for our addiction to consumption. Where all our knowledge will come from algorithms, and where our thoughts, our minds, and our decisions will be influenced by social media and consumed by numbers and statistics that are fed to us by the media.
I don't know what to think anymore, and I am very afraid for the future. I am concerned about our ability to question, to doubt, to think critically. I am afraid that we will lose our ability to think rationally, to make our own choices, to decide our own destiny. It seems to me that we are moving towards a future where our freedom will be reduced to nothing more than the illusion of freedom. Where our choices and decisions will be shaped by the algorithms that influence our thoughts and actions.
I don't know what to think anymore, I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what's real and what's not, but I'm concerned about where we're headed.
What do you think about all this?
Is it normal that politicians are only preoccupied with their own interests?
Is it normal that corporations take control of everything?
Are we headed towards a future of technological slavery and alienation where we will be nothing more than a statistic, a number in the Matrix?
Is our freedom being reduced to nothing more than the illusion of freedom?
Are we losing our ability to think rationally, to make our own choices, to decide our own destiny?
What do you think about all this?
