Accommodator

Accommodator is an app specifically geared towards people with disabilities. It’s a customizable way for people to express their needs. It’s not meant to be a social media platform or an awareness platform (though those can be listed in an about section). It’s simply a tool to help disabled people communicate more effectively.<br><br>The idea is for people to create digital cards with their name, medical condition/disability, how it may affect them, and what they need from people around them. It could be saved onto Apple Wallet or Google Pay for easy access. If someone’s needs change, they can update their card.<br><br>For example: a color blind person could write something like this on their card: “I’m red green colorblind. This may affect me by mistaking the color of traffic lights. What I need from you is to simply tell me which color the lights are. Otherwise, I function like anyone else. Thank you for understanding.”<br><br>Or an autistic person could write this on their card: “I’m autistic. This may affect me by having meltdowns in loud spaces. What I need is for you to give me space and to not touch me or try to talk to me. Otherwise, I function like anyone else. Thank you for understanding.”<br><br>It could also be useful for people to list their allergies, and what actions people should take during an allergic reaction. <br><br>The goal is to make this really applicable to a wide range of conditions/disabilities, and to make it easily accessible.
