AITA for refusing to let my wife buy a shirt I already own?

My wife, "Vivian (28F)" often buys me clothes as gifts or because she wants me to wear certain things. I generally like her taste but I have one major pet peeve.

About 6 months ago, she wanted to go on a shopping trip because I was in dire need of new clothes. The trip did not go well because she kept buying me the same type of things that she had already bought me. She'd purchase a different color but for the most part I already owned what she was buying. I complained to her about it and she told me that she liked buying matching outfits and so it made perfect sense for us to match in different colors. I didn't really like that idea and felt that it was very childish but she assured me that she thought that matching outfits for couples were adorable and she wanted to celebrate our marriage by doing that.

The second issue I had with her shopping was that I already own a lot of the clothes she buys. For example, my dickies shirt in black is an old friend of mine. Still looks brand new, and I like that it's a piece I can wear with anything. She sees how often I wear it and decides to buy me more of the same shirt and instead of asking me what color I'd like, she buys me a shirt I already own but in a different color. So she'll see how much I love my black dickies shirt and buy me a blue one. If it was a different brand or make I wouldn't care, but I don't need to own the same shirt in multiple colors with the same cut and material. Particularly since she is always choosing random colors that are not my style. I told her this and she seemed to ignore me.

She took me to my favorite clothing store to buy me a shirt, and I was excited because we hadn't been in a while. She browses the racks and then holds up a dickies shirt in white. I immediately say no because I rarely wear white shirts and it's not something that I like. She insists that she can get it for me in my size and I tell her that I don't want to rely on someone else to pay for my clothes. I'd rather buy it for myself and I told her exactly that. Then she pulls out her card to use it and I say that she doesn't need to buy me a shirt that I already own.

She seemed confused for a second until I reminded her that I already own a dickies shirt in black. She laughed at me and said that was completely different and then I got pissed off and accused her of not listening to me. I reminded her that the last time she went shopping with me, I told her exactly how I feel about buying me clothes I already own. She said that I was being ridiculous and overreacting, but I was so angry that I stormed out of the store with her after me, yelling at me.

When we got home she started to cry and said that she was just trying to be thoughtful. I told her that I didn't appreciate that and she kept pushing the issue, saying that she was just trying to do something nice for me. I told her that she could do something nice by buying me a shirt I don't already own. She told me that I was a big baby and being ungrateful. She then accused me of hating her taste in clothes and then I started getting angry because honestly, I don't like her taste. But I told her that she needed to respect my taste in clothes.

She called her parents and her mom came over. She told her mom the story and her mom rolled her eyes and said "She's such a picky eater. Of course she'd be a picky dresser" which made Vivian cry even harder. I tried to defend myself and said that it was a reasonable thing to ask but her mom just shook her head and said that I was a grown man and I should buy my own clothes.

Vivian has not spoken to me since and her mom has not left our house. She's staying with us and she keeps making snide remarks whenever she sees me. They're both so angry with me and I just don't get why. So AITA for not wanting to buy clothes I already own?
