Reddit needs to allow users to make their history private.

I've been on this platform since 2008 after lurking for a few years due to seeing little need to make an acct and comment or make a post as I enjoy just reading the feed and learning. The reason I made the account was because a former friend made a very nasty post about me on a sub (not this one) and it got removed by a mod for being "too personal." Here was my problem with that; someone posts a very personal, defamatory and inaccurate post about me and the post is removed but the history of me making an account just to make a post to defend myself against defamatory lies remains present. I have no issue with people seeing what I post online but the idea that someone can make a post just to make someone create an online footprint simply to defend themselves against an inaccurate attack and that footprint remaining there forever is completely unfair. Being able to make your account history private completely solves this issue.
