If you're over 18 and your partner has to announce you're 18+ before performing sexual acts on you, you're just a child to them.

Too many times I've heard men say "I don't care if a girl is 18, if she looks under 18 I'm not touching her. I need to announce she's 18 before I proceed." That's so unbelievably infantilizing and dehumanizing to even suggest a partner is too young to be in a sexual relationship with.

People who say this literally see their partners as underage children. It's so fucked up.

Edit: To people saying this is about clear communication, it's not. It's about the subtext of saying "I need to announce your age before I can have sex with you". It's saying that if their partner was any younger, they would immediately lose all sexual desire for them, thus infantilizing them intentionally.

Edit #2: I see lots of men saying "this isn't for me to know, this is for my audience to know". If you have an audience for sex, you have an audience for announcing consent. If you don't do that, you're liars who are trying to get off on the thought of any young girl, but need an announcement to feel like you have plausible deniability.
