Thought I was going crazy about people wearing wedding dresses

I have seen this trend of people wearing wedding dresses everywhere for the past year and I wondered if I went crazy. I feel like back in the day wedding dresses were reserved only for people that were actually going to get married. Do you remember when it was unusual to see that a celebrity wore a wedding dress to an event? Like, “Oh my god, Selena Gomez wore a wedding dress to the Met Gala or something and people were like “wow that’s a bold move”.

My observations were confirmed when I was at a party and someone wore a wedding dress and I made a joke like “are you getting married to the beer?” and she was like “what do you mean? Wedding dresses are a fashion trend right now”. Nope. I have been to numerous weddings and nobody wears a wedding dress related to weddings. I think people just call them wedding dresses because they don’t know what else to call them. I thought this was another observant moment like the whole heinz blank blank thing and was surprised to find people actually wear these groomless wedding dresses.

Edit to add that I don’t think there’s anything wrong with people wearing wedding dresses. I don’t judge people based on what they decide to wear.
