This sub's No 1 fan is the person who applies to be a moderator of it.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>To prove this; a year ago a message from Reddit Admin was posted to this sub.... a message you are not allowed to reply to. <br><br>It was an automated message called "MODERATOR WANTED"<br><br>Because the old mod had deleted their account. <br><br>No one applied.<br><br>At least no one applied for a week or so, and then a moderator account was created for this sub. <br><br>So it looks like it's the same person. The sub's oldest fan. <br><br>The same person also created a new moderator account in the last 24 hours. <br><br>I tried to PM them and get them to tell us all what's going on. <br><br>Just to get some confirmation of what's happening. <br><br>But they just deleted their inbox and ignored me. <br><br>I don't know why that could be, maybe they do want to talk to us; but don't want to talk to just me.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: I think this is what happened.<br><br>Reddit: "MODERATOR WANTED"<br><br>Sub's oldest fan: "hey, I'm interested in being the mod for this sub. No one else has applied."<br><br>Reddit: "Well, it's the moderator's account, and they deleted their account. So the account and everything it posted is going to be deleted, unless you can find a way to recover it."<br><br>Sub's oldest fan: "I thought it was the same account, you just switch to a new person?"<br><br>Reddit: "That is how it is supposed to work. But in this case the moderator account is connected to the moderator's reddit account, not to the subreddit's account."<br><br>Sub's oldest fan: "Well, that sucks."<br><br>Reddit: "You could recover the account, you'll have to message the mods of /r/inbox"<br><br>Sub's oldest fan: "Well, there doesn't seem to be anyone else helping out. So I'll just have to do it all by myself."<br><br>Reddit: "You can delete any existing moderator accounts and message the mods of /r/inbox"<br><br>Sub's oldest fan: "You said I could also recover the old account if I wanted to."<br><br>Reddit: "Yes, you could."<br><br>Sub's oldest fan: "Well, I'll just delete the existing moderator account and create a new moderator account for myself, and let them deal with recovering the old account if they insist on doing it that way."<br><br>Reddit: "That's fair enough."<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit 2: I would like to message the mods of r/inbox to warn them that there's a troll responding to them while pretending to be the new moderator for this sub.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit 3: r/inbox did reply to the troll and told them that they weren't going to recover the account because it was deleted by the moderator themselves. <br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit 4: The troll responded and claimed to be the moderator and that they have been the mod for a while and recovered the account themselves and are now deleting it because they found a way to message the mods of r/inbox. <br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit 5: Well, I hope that the troll who claims to be the moderator doesn't get the account recovered. <br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit 6: I hope the mods of r/inbox are confused by the troll claiming to be the moderator and are not confused by the troll's story. <br><br>If they do recover the account the troll will be able to keep pretending to be the moderator and message the mods of r/inbox that they're not the moderator.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit 7: The mods of r/inbox got back to the troll and told them that as they are the moderator they should know the answer to their question. The troll tried to claim that they're new and don't know that much yet. The mods of r/inbox told them that the message they sent to the troll was from the very beginning of the sub, and if the troll had read that message they would know the answer to their question and they would also know that there's no moderator account for the sub and that the sub doesn't even exist. The troll didn't like that and message the mods of r/inbox back and called them a bunch of idiots for replying to them like that.
