CMV: It is morally wrong to give birth to a child for the sole reason of wanting to have offspring.

&#x200B;<br><br>I am not talking about having a child to give an already existing child a sibling; when I say 'sole reason' I mean that it's the only reason on a list of reasons, for instance.<br><br>Barack Obama once said: 'We are the first generation to feel the effect of climate change and the last generation who can do something about it'. The climate crisis is both real and extremely threatening to human life, and I think having children will only make the matter worse, and that people who want to have children should reconsider their decision.<br><br>Having a child will use up an enormous amount of resources, and it will give birth to a human who may have to go through the hardest part of human history, which is an unethical thing to do. It will also give birth to another potential GHG emitter.<br><br>Edit: formatted text
