I’m confused by the attitude that men have towards women’s bodies

I am a man, and I will be referring to men in this post purely because the communities I visit are male-dominated. I am not accusing all men; I am sharing my observations.

Too often, I come across memes or posts that express a blatant lack of understanding of the female body. Some of these examples may seem trivial, but when you consider how widespread this attitude is, it should be a problem that concerns everyone.

This issue affects not only men who want to have sex but also those who do not. I have seen numerous instances where men claim to be “incel” or insist they are not interested in women but still make negative comments and jokes about the female body.

This lack of knowledge is not only inappropriate but also inaccurate. For instance, it leads to the assumption that women can only pee while sitting down. In reality, women can urinate while standing up, just like men. The shape of the female genital area, including the labia and clitoris, is often misunderstood and mocked. Moreover, menstruation is a natural aspect of the female experience, yet it is frequently ridiculed and stereotyped in media and everyday conversation.

A common example of this is when people see a picture of a woman with slightly bigger labia and say, “I prefer smaller lips.” First, everyone is built differently. Second, there is no evidence that having larger labia negatively impacts sexual function or attraction. In fact, larger labia can provide better stimulation during sex. The only potentially negative side effect is the risk of discomfort with certain clothing. So, why the preference for smaller labia when they perform the same function?

Another misconception is about the g-spot, but I will not go into that here.

I can’t help but wonder if the lack of knowledge about the female body is a deliberate choice. It seems like many, perhaps even most, men do not take the time to learn basic facts about women’s bodies. Perhaps this lack of understanding contributes to why some men view women as objects or possessions rather than as people with their own experiences, feelings, and emotions.

While I am not perfect and my knowledge can be improved, I always try to be open-minded and empathetic towards others, including women. I never understood why men would intentionally degrade women or treat them as objects. I believe that men should show respect and understanding towards women, especially since their bodies are capable of childbirth.

I urge men to educate themselves about women’s bodies and to express more respect and empathy.

EDIT: Jesus, this thread blew up. I am not saying that every man is ignorant of the female body. I am sharing my observations from my personal experiences. I have noticed that a lot of men do not respect women or their bodies. Instead, they view them as objects or possessions for personal enjoyment. I don’t understand this mentality, and so I am talking about it here.

Also, I am not saying all of my experiences were in the communities you listed. It has been across various platforms, and both online and offline, that I see this attitude.

EDIT2: I am not calling women stupid for having smaller brains. I said that I don’t understand why men degrade women when their brains are larger. I do not see anything wrong with women. I am criticizing men for having disrespectful attitudes towards women.
