This happened to me when I was 19. I’m 24 now. I had just got a new car at the time. A brand new 2018 Honda Accord. It was around 12am and I was driving my friends car (a Kia which is my car now) but my brother was in the passenger seat. I was driving down the street when this car stops in front of me and this man jogs up to my car and starts hitting the window and telling me to stop. I’m wondering wtf is going on and then I see the lady who was driving the car behind me waving her hands to the side trying to tell me to drive away.

So I did and the guy got back in the car and they took off like a bat out of hell. I drive up to the next street and stop. I was in shock so I didn’t know what to do. Then the guy comes out of the car again and jogs up to me and hits the window again and tells me to stop. Again I drive away and stop at the next street. I decide to pull into a gas station to get some help. The car finally stops following me. I pull into the gas station and the gas station attendant (who was a Middle Eastern looking man) comes out to help me. He asked me what just happened and I explained my story.

He then offers to take me inside the store and said “don’t worry I’ll let you stay in here with me until they’re gone” and at first I’m like “this is nice of him” but for some reason I got the first red flag. I told him “no we’re good. We’re just going to go now” and then he’s like “no it’s fine don’t worry about it” trying to convince me to come inside and I start to feel weird. We say goodbye and thank him and I drive away.

I get home and my brother immediately goes to tell my parents what happened and when he told them about the gas station attendant my mom immediately says “I’m glad you got out of there. I have a bad feeling he was going to abduct you if you went inside” and I was like “yeah I had a bad feeling too” and Ironic enough, the next morning we found out that the guy in the other car was trying to car jack us. The police found his car the next morning abandoned and they were able to track him down and it turned out he had just car jacked another girl about 20 minutes before he tried to car jack us.

The police told us that if my brother and I were to have went inside the gas station store, we probably would have been kidnapped as well. I’m just glad I made the right decision to trust my gut. Now I always try to trust my gut when it tells me things.
