LPT: Always, always read the label on any supplements you buy. Look for red flags such as the supplement containing a megadose of a nutrient, and be aware that many supplements contain fillers and other ingredients that you may be allergic to.

I've been doing a lot of reading about supplements recently. There's a lot of concern about the quality of supplements and the prevalence of contamination with heavy metals and other things that you may not want in your body. This has led me to be much more cautious in my purchasing decisions. When I first started taking supplements, I didn't think about these things. I was in my 20s, and I didn't really know better. Now that I'm in my 40s and have a family of my own, I want to make sure that the supplements I take are safe.
