There’s this really annoying kid in my class. This is what happened yesterday with him.

So I was explaining a topic to him 1-on-1, which he clearly didn’t get because he kept making the same mistakes over and over again. He’s also not paying attention in class and keeps looking at his phone. I’m getting really tired of his repetitive questions and him not focusing on what I’m saying. I asked him “why do you keep doing the same mistakes over and over?”. He got mad and said “fuck off cunt, you can’t teach for shit”. I reported it to the principal and wrote him up for it. He got a talk from the principal but no actual punishment. The principal just told him to be more respectful next time. Yeah, sure. I just feel like there’s no consequence for his rudeness and I’m just being blamed for not doing my job well. I don’t know if I should talk to the principal again, or talk to the student and tell him that this behaviour is not okay and it’s not my fault that he can’t do the work. I just don’t know what to say without sounding like a dick. What would you do in my position?
