My mom's ex-boyfriend invited my husband to a gay bar. Husband didn't know.

My story will be from my husband’s point of view. He doesn’t have an account so I’m posting for him.<br><br>In 2017 we traveled to the Philippines (where both of us were born) to spend Christmas with family.<br><br>My mom had a boyfriend at the time, Ricardo. He was a very nice guy and we’ve known him for a few years. He was very quiet and kept to himself, and a stickler for the rules.<br><br>One night, he invited my husband Mike to go with him to a bar that was close to the hotel where we were staying. I was still adjusting to the time difference and was tired, so I didn’t want to go. My mom and my siblings were back in our province so it was just me and Mike at the hotel.<br><br>Mike agreed to go with Ricardo and was ready in no time. They left, and I was back to sleep.<br><br>A few hours later, Mike was back in the room. He was fuming and stayed quiet until he couldn’t keep it anymore: “You won’t believe what he did.” Was all he said, and I knew something was wrong.<br><br>Turns out, Ricardo took Mike to a gay bar. He didn’t tell Mike beforehand, and Mike didn’t realize it until he was already there. Mike doesn’t like bars and doesn’t drink. He only went because he didn’t want to be rude to Ricardo, and he thought he was being nice.<br><br>Apparently, all the men in that bar kept looking at Mike, asking Ricardo if he was single, etc. Ricardo was also flirting with other men and getting drunk. Mike didn’t know what to do because he was stuck in that bar with Ricardo, who was his only way back to our hotel.<br><br>At one point, a very good looking man went up to Ricardo and started flirting with him. Ricardo was also flirting back, both of them very drunk. Mike took the opportunity to slip away and go back to our hotel.<br><br>We were both mad at my mom for putting Mike in that situation. I trajectory sent her a text and told her what happened. She was livid and broke up with him when she got back.<br><br>We are not mad at the gay men in the bar for flirting with Mike. We are mad at Ricardo for putting my husband in an uncomfortable position and for misleading him. <br><br>Mike is hetero and very faithful, and Ricardo was my mom’s bf and knew all this. We also know that Ricardo is bi, which is fine, but it’s weird that he invited my husband to a gay bar and didn’t tell him beforehand.<br><br>That’s it. Pretty weird situation. Ricardo is an lnm.
