One of my professors today

I'm in a class that's mostly like upperclassmen, I'm a freshman. It's a political science course, and he's really cool. He's had the attention of the Classroom for about 15 minutes. He starts lecturing about white privilege. ("I'm a white male, I'm privileged, I know it and I see it".) He then goes into a story. "One of my colleagues, that's a female, and a minority, she's a great professor. She came up to me, and was talking about her experiences". "She had a student threaten to shoot her, and her family, and she wasn't even allowed to fail the student". He then said ("I'm a white guy with a beard, and I'm not saying all white guys with beards are bad, but the one that threatened was a white guy with a beard") To add in context, our campus has had a lot of troubles with threats of shootings and bombings and the like, due to Tumblr "anarchists".

He just then goes into a really passionate speech about how pissed he is at what the educational system has been allowing. He says "White, male privilege, is real. It's killing this nation, and it's killing your generation". "You guys are going to inherit this, and it's our job as professors to teach you how to deal with this". He then just kinda gets choked up, but continues his lecture. We all applauded, and it was just really moving in general. (Sorry if this post sucks)

Edit: I want to clarify that the story my professor told was from a real experience, it was not made up.
