Why do I get ghosted for only staying friends with a guy for 15 years, but not with a guy I dated for 2 years?

I don't mean to make this a bash women post, but I'm confused and looking for advice. <br><br>I've been ghosted twice. Once by a guy I only dated for a week and the second by a guy I was only friends with for 15 years. <br><br>Guy number one I never got a clear answer for, but I have some suspicions that I remind him of a woman from his past. <br><br>Guy number two is what confused me. Only now do I realize why he really wanted to be my friend. <br><br>I've known him since I was 19 and we became friends. We hung out occasionally and even went to a few concerts together. He's five years older than me, so when I knew him back then, I was only 19 and he was 24. He always made it clear that he was very interested, but I was not. <br><br>So we just stayed friends for all those years. <br><br>Two years ago, he introduced me to his new girlfriend and I thought that was weird. Turns out, it was a blind date. He asked me to go on a second date with him and I said no. <br><br>He ghosted me and I was really confused about it. <br><br>I later found out that he told his girlfriend that he and I used to date back in the early 2000s and that we broke up and that's why I ended our friendship. <br><br>I have no idea if he's trying to make me look bad or whatever, but that's so not true. I ended our friendship because he became really creepy. <br><br>He had always been this really nice guy, but he slowly started showing his real personality over the years. It started with him telling me to watch what I wear when I'm out with him and that he didn't want other guys looking at me. <br><br>It went from creepy to just flat out weird. He's a huge lying narcissist and I didn't want to be around him anymore. <br><br>I don't know why he felt the need to ghost me and lie about us dating when he could have just ended our friendship. <br><br>If I wanted to end a friendship, I would do it directly and not ghost someone. <br><br>I don't know why men do that.
