What if the earth was a smaller sphere?

I know history is history but let's imagine earth was a sphere with half the radius.. This would mean that with half the radius of 6,371km, it's circumference would be 10,000 km. There would be, therefore, less ocean and less land and the people could have easily discovered the earth's roundness way earlier. My question is how would this smaller circumference have affected the course of history?
