Let me be a mailman in a dead-end suburb, not a space cop on Mars.

I want to work as a chef in a small Italian restaurant, not a nanomachine fabricator on a generation ship, in constant fear of dead nanobots clogging up the dome's pipes.

I want to spend my day working on a 20th-century muscle car, not a fusion-powered hovercar.

I want to work at a Blockbuster, not a human clone farm.

I want to have a Starbucks job in a Starbucks world, not a spaceship to Mars, asteroid or gas giant moon.

I want to be a school teacher, but not for AI humanoids. I want to live in the present.
